In Response to Amanda V.'s Identity DB 2:

"We should celebrate diversity and not try to change everybody... People who come to this country do not have to be completely Americanized, they should keep their own identity but grow and learn."
Amanda, I completely agree with you on this statement. Yes, immigrants should be
willing to adjust when moving to a new country, also, that doesn't mean they have to abandon their own culture which is apart of their identity. As a country, we too often try to change everybody to become like one another. But what impact will our country have on others if all the citizens are the same? Our country needs cultural diversity as well as different opinions and personalities to both impact and influence others. If I am understanding you correctly, I'm led to believe that your opinion goes along these same lines. Immigrants often turn away from American because they feel a pressure from the country to give up their ethnic background. The question is, what is it going to take for our country to turn it around and become more welcoming to immigrants?

It starts small, from within ourselves, then to our community, city, state, and so on. Our country must work together to welcome new people. You are a strong writer, and I enjoyed reading your post. Keep up the solid work, but maybe be more thorough with proof reading before you submit. I found a few spelling and grammatical errors, which is an easy fix. Besides that, you were very clear with your ideas and followed the rubric well.
