Introduction:
For my writer’s choice piece, I chose the Community Blog. I wrote this blog on how soccer has been a community in my life. I explained how the bonding experiences shared between my team on and off the field helped form a community because we were all committed. I wrote “Commitment can and will mend or tear the community of soccer” and that “Commitment is not just shown through attendance, but also through performance.” I continued to explain how once the foundation of commitment is made strong, then community will come at second nature. If a team coexists as a community, they will be on the right track to success. This piece is one of my best works because it is based off on something I have experienced first hand. I have been inspired by this blog, because I can use similar strategies used to form a strong community on a soccer team and apply them to other communities I am a part of.
